Our friend Kevin had kindly thrown the doors of his home open for an evening of pizza (and other food) and Karaoke for our members and friends. Some great food, great company, and stunning (and perhaps not so stunning) performances followed! Solo performances, duets, groups, and music from rock and roll to modern pop. Brilliant!
Kev had kindly invited our members and friends along to an evening of Karaoke with food too. It was an offer taken up by a good number of us, and a great night it was too. Before we get onto the music, the food was great. We’d been promised pizza, but alongside that Kev had put on baked potatoes, salads, various nibbles and sweets too – a fine spread, which kept many of us occupied on and off throughout the night. He also opened up a great selection of drinks, including a few decent ales which (I like to think) aided the performances somewhat!
There was a fine mix of styles and genres in the chosen songs too. From President Steve’s excellent rendition of Wanderin’ Star through Lisa & Helen covering Defying Gravity (from the musical Wicked), Shaun’s marvelous performance of Gun’s & Roses Sweet Child of Mine, Troy’s superb performance of Poison, Julie’s party-starting crowd pleasing performance of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and Chloe’s sassy version of Pink’s So What. And of course, anything performed by our singing superstar Lisa! Kev didn’t just host, he also took part, with some great tunes too, including Dirty Old Town and Losing My Religion. Even Josh had a go singing along with the Crazy Frog. Time flew, as it does when you’re having fun, and it didn’t seem like more than minutes after we’d arrived that the evening came to a close. But, Kev has promised we can do it all again sometime, and I’m sure there will be a great take up for the next one too! A big thank you to Kev for hosting us all.
