Vicky Elise was the performer for a special fundraising evening for Bloxwich’s Royal British Legion and the Annual Remembrance Parade. The event was held at the Bloxwich Memorial Club, and a few of our members were able to go along and support and enjoy this excellent evening of food and music for a great cause.

A couple of our members and their families had a great time at the Bloxwich Royal British Legion Armed Forces Day Concert on Friday 29 June – flags were flying around the room and some of the audience got up dancing. Vicky Elise gave an amazing performance. She started the evening dressed in uniform with a 40s set, including some wartime favourites. The final song of the set was an original song (written by John W Woolridge) which Vicky performed on the night but is also singing to help raise money to support the families of the British troops.

Ann Barnes and her committee had laid on a fabulous buffet which everyone tucked into once the music had started. At the end of the first half of the evening, Martin Harrison auctioned two cakes (a Bloxwich flag and a Union Jack made of fresh berries) raising a fabulous £60 towards the Remembrance Parade later in the year. Following a short break, Vicky returned in a beautiful 50s dress to perform her second set – a mixture of songs from the 50s.
